A worked planning range—not a quotation
XMU’s official cost page lists meals at RMB 1,000–1,500 monthly, insurance at RMB 800 yearly and several accommodation ranges depending on campus and room type. A family should create low, expected and high scenarios instead of multiplying tuition by six. Internship-year arrangements and annual increases can alter the total.
Pay safely
ZJU recommends payment through its online application system and publishes official bank instructions. XMU warns students not to trust fee notices outside its admission guidance and enrollment instructions. Verify the recipient, reference number, refund conditions and currency before transferring money. Keep invoices and bank receipts.
Scholarship language needs careful reading
A scholarship may cover tuition only, or may also include accommodation, insurance or a stipend. Confirm its duration, annual review rules and what happens if academic conditions are not met. Never subtract a scholarship from the budget until the award is formally confirmed.
Regulatory value matters as much as price
