What is MDCAT and why does the MDCAT 2026 date matter?
MDCAT means Medical and Dental College Admission Test. It is the entry test used for MBBS and BDS admission in Pakistan. Therefore, students cannot treat it like an ordinary college test.

MDCAT 2026 Test Centres
Students usually choose a city from the list available in the PMDC portal. However, a centre can fill quickly. Therefore, complete the form early and select your city carefully.
On exam day, reach the centre before reporting time. Also, carry your original identity document and printed admit card. Without these, entry may become difficult.

Is MDCAT required for MBBS admission in China?
Passing MDCAT is exempt as a foreign-admission prerequisite for Pakistani students under the PM&DC public notice dated 5 October 2026. This covers admission to foreign medical and dental institutions; it is not a blanket exemption from other requirements.
You still need to meet your chosen university’s entry criteria and separately check applicable PM&DC student registration, institution and programme recognition, and future licensing requirements. An admission offer alone does not confirm eligibility to practise in Pakistan.
